Ashantigold defender Asamoah not disappointed with decision to strip him of armband

Ashantigold defender Daniel Asamoah says he’s not worried with the decision to strip him of the armband.

Asamoah was stripped of the captaincy for his poor leadership qualities.

He was accused of masterminding a revolution to have former coach Yaw Acheampong sacked.

But Asamoah, who has played an incredible eight seasons at the club is unperturbed with the decision to strip him of the captain’s badge.

“I am not bothered  because it’s the decision of the club,” Asamoah told Radio XYZ

“I have been at this club for a long time and so if they think someone else deserve to wear the armband, so be it.

“The most important thing is to focus on the league and try to win Saturday’s game at New Edubiase.

“I am simply fine with the the decision.

Goalkeeper Fatawu Dauda has since been named as the new captain of the side.
