Ashantigold have wrapped up a deal for defender Prince Anokye from Berekum Chelsea, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

The 25-year-old passed his medical on Tuesday and signed the dotted lines on a two-year deal after just a season with the 2010 Ghana League Champions.

Ankokye requested for the move after failing to break into the first team plans of coach Han Vander Pluijm.

He replaced the suspended Eric Agyemang during Chelsea's Caf Champions League draw against Al Alhy at the Accra Sports stadium  ten days ago.

The likes of Medeama and Aduana were reportedly keen on his services, but the former Asante Kotoko right-back has opted to join the Obuasi-based club.

The miners are keen to bolster their squad ahead of the Premier League campaign next season.

The FA Cup losing finalists placed second in the country's top flight last term.
