By Patrick Akoto

Ashantigold romped to a 4-1 win over Future Stars in a pre-season friendly  on Wednesday.

Midfielder Aaron Amoah grabbed a brace while striker Yakubu Mohammed scored the third before the second-tier pulled a goal back to end the first half.

New recruit Musah Sulley restored their 3-0 advantage with the fourth in the second half at the Len Clasy Stadium.

Head trainer Yaw Acheampong used the friendly to assess his new acquisitions while given those on the fringes the opportunity to impress.

He partnered Prince Anokye and Felix Baffoe at the heart of defence with Isaac Morgan playing in the centre with Aaron Amoah.

The Obuasi-based club will play another friendly against Glow Lamp Academy on Thursday.
