AshGold CEO blames recent decline on fatigue

Chief Executive Officer of AshantiGold Kudjo Fianoo says fatigue is responsible for his side's recent slump in form.

The Obuasi-based club after commanding an impressive seven-game winning streak at the start of the second round of the Premier League, have failed to win in their last five games.

AshGold's recent poor run has seen their then title ambitions fade into a desperate fight to finish in the top four.

It appears fatigue has begun to set in, one excuse Fianoo seems to be leaning towards but insists the downward trend ought to be reversed.

"We brought in quite a number of players for the secnd round like Lious Quinoo, Alex Asamoah and the likes and it appears these players after working so hard are fatigued," he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

"We however still believe it ought not to happen that way and we will be employing all means necessary to halt the decline.

"We have managed to exceed our pre-season target whic was to avoid relegation but I believe our performance leaves much to be desired and we hope to coast safely to the highest possible finish for us and then will strategize for next season."

AshGold are currently placed fifth on the league log level on points (42) with New Edubiase with three games left to go.
