AshantiGold CEO Kudjoe Fianoo says he is ready to lead a campaign to stop clubs from paying taxes on players’ salaries, winning bonuses and signing on fees.

Clubs in Ghana have also been asked to make SSNIT contributions for their players.

Fianoo believes the directive could cripple clubs if not opposed.

“I came back from Accra to realize that some offices from Ghana Revenue Authority have come to ask of taxes on our players’ bonuses,” he told Obuasi-based Shaft FM.

“Every club in Ghana is running at a loss in their final accounts every year.

“If this continues, I tell you football administration in Ghana will be dead.

“Am entreating all club to wake up. We the clubs produce talents to the national teams but what do teams get in return from the government.

“I am ready to lead this crusade “.
