AshantiGold CEO Kudjoe Fianoo was slapped by fans alleged to be from Mighty Jets after last Saturday's Ghana Premier League match in Accra.
The irate fans are reported to have heckled him and finally succeeded in slapping him in the face near the team bus after the match.
Some also pelted stones at the football administrator for his harmless comments.
"Fianoo said his side have repeated last season's results of winning 3-0 at home and 1-0 away and the fans took offence," a witness told GHANAsoccernet.com.
"He was heckled and beaten up but luckily, the Police came his rescue and arrested one of them."
Striker Yakubu Mohammed scored the match winner for AshantiGold in the 1-0 success at the Accra Sports Stadium.
