AshantiGold coach Yaw Acheampong is looking to make history by winning the FA Cup title both as a player and as a coach.

The former Ghana international captained the Oboakese lads to their last FA Cup feat in 1993.

And now as coach, Acheampong is looking to lead the Miners to a win in the grand finale on Sunday against New Edubiase to manufacture his own piece of history.

"I quite remember the last time we had this cup in Obuasi, I was then the captain so it will be very nice to return this cup to Obuasi as a coach," Acheampong said.

AshGold are slight favourites going into the finals to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium haven accounted for Hearts of Oak and Berekum Chelsea in previous rounds.

Aside winning the Ghc 25000 and the enviable accolade of 2012 FA Cup champions, the winner of the MTN FA Cup final will also represent Ghana in next season’s Caf Confederations Cup.
