AshantiGold coach C K Akunnor is praising himself for hatching the strategy which earned his side a 1-1 draw at Asante Kotoko on Thursday in a delayed Ghana Premier League match.

The Miners looked stronger and shot ahead through Hans Kwoffie before Saddick Adams levelled with a controversial penalty late on.

AshGold are now in tenth place but just two places above the relegation mark.

''We had the Opportunity of watching Kotoko play in Obuasi against Medeama in the MTN FA Cup game, we had a rough idea of how they play, we know they will come at us is in the first 20-25 minutes of the game,'' Akunnor stated after the game

“We knew they will push and try to win the game, we knew their strength, their weaknesses and their general style of play. We prepared very well and would have wished for a win but unfortunately we came up with a draw.''

Akunnor did not read meanings into Referee Prosper Adii's dubious penalty awarded Kotoko.

''I will not comment on officiating , the referee is human, he can make mistakes. A month a ago when we went to Bechem, I spoke a lot about officiating, I prefer to keep quite this time around,'' he added.
