The war of words have already began between New Edubiase and AshantiGold ahead of the MTN FA Cup final on Sunday.

The two Premier League clubs will slug it out at the Accra Sports Stadium for the giant trophy, a whooping Ghc 25000 cash prize, the enviable accolade of 2012 FA Cup champions and above all, an opportunity to represent Ghana in next year’s Caf Confederations Cup.

Both sides are in bullish mood, certain of a win come Sunday – and this they exuded with panache at the pre-match press conference on Wednesday.

"They (Edubiase) are going to meet a baptism of fire this being their first cup final," AshGold CEO Kudjo Fianoo said.

"I will only urge the supporters to come in their numbers for we will sell a very good game and surely win the trophy."

Fianoo’s comments were backed by club captain Daniel Asamoah who even took it further by saying: "Within 20 minutes we will finish New Edubiase. Therefore the supporters should come early to witness the goals.”

A rather calm, collected but highly confident New Edubiase camp responded first through coach Anthony Commey who said: “I have a lot of respect for AshantiGold but we are not afraid of them.

“We are the underdogs but just like we have done up until now, they (AshGold) are in for a shocker.”

Commey’s flex of the muscle was buttressed by captain Moro Ibrahim who said: "AshGold have talked too much but I believe myself, I believe in my team and the technical team and I am sure we will win.”

Sunday’s game which kicks off at 3pm local time is being played in memory of Ghana’s late President John Atta-Mills.

As such spectators are urged to have black and red well represented in their dress code to the stadium signifying the nation’s grief during the state of mourning.
