AshantiGold midfielder Daniel Addo has begged the fans to stick with them despite their awful start of their league title defence.

The former Ghana U20 star was sent off in the Miners 1-0 home to debutants Dreams FC on Sunday.

This followed the 5-1 drubbing at the hands of Liberty Professionals nine days ago.

AshantiGold have managed to claim only seven points from seven league matches this season.

The fans have turned their backs on the team with some calling for the head of coach Bashir Hayford.

"I will beg the fans. They even visited us at training with their anger last week. Please, we beg them to support us because we don't have anybody,” Addo told GHANASoccernet.com

"They are the only ones we have. If they reject us, we don't know what to do.

"We beg the fans because it wasn't our intention to lose this game. We are very sorry.

"I don't even know what to say because we expected to win this game even at the we were down by a goal, we were expecting victory.

"When we got the penalty, we wanted to score to motivate and exert some confidence into us but unfortunately we missed the penalty. Things changed afterwards."

AshantiGold travel to Kumasi on Thursday to play second tier side Asokwa Deportivo in the round of 32 of the MTN FA Cup 2016.
