Former Asante Kotoko striker Alex Asamoah is on his way to rejoining AshantiGold, the club have announced.

AshGold have been locked in talks to re-sign their former striker to arrest the goal crisis that has hit the miners this season.

The Obuasi-based side scored just 10 goals in 12 games and occupy the 12th position with 14 points.

Club Chief Executive Officer Kudjoe Fiano believes the former Black Meteors striker will help lift them out of their dire state.

"We have had a lot in talks with Asamoah who is our former striker and hopefully he will join us," he told Peace FM.

He also confirmed talks with Berekum Chelsea are 99% percent complete to secure last season's goal king Nana Poku on loan.

"For Nana Poku things have reached the final stages. Chelsea are willing to issue all the document which we will do very soon," he added.
