The Ghana FA has asked AshantiGold to replace Inter Allies as the country's other representative in the CAF Confederation Cup next year after the latter announced their withdrawal.

Inter Allies Football Club announced last week that it has withdrawn from representing the country in the 2015 CAF Confederation Cup citing financial problems.

Eleven Is To One were losing finalists in the 2013/2014 MTN FA Cup to league champions Asante Kotoko and secured the ticket to play to in Africa for the first time.

However the financial problems forced them to announce their their withdrawal which has led to the GFA asking AshGold to replace them.

"Since Inter Allies have announced they are unable to participate, we have asked Ashanti Gold who placed fourth on the league table to confirm by Tuesday whether they will play in the Confederation Cup ,” Ghana FA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie told Hello FM.

The Miners have until Tuesday to announce confirm their participation after Inter Allies withdrew says they don't have the money to fund their campaign.

“We carefully assessed our financial situation and thought it would be prudent to forfeit going to Africa. We have discussed with our stakeholders and this is the difficult decision,” CEO Delali Senaye said.

“We have asked the Ghana FA to look at the next club who merit the slot to be forwarded to CAF.

“We understand if our followers are disappointed but they shouldn’t be discouraged because better times are ahead of us.”

Inter Allies made a successful debut in the Ghana top-flight by finishing sixth and missing out on the FA Cup trophy by a whisker.
