AshGold survive New Edubiase scare to end winless run
AshGold fought back to beat Edubiase

Stuttering AshGold fought from behind to record a 2-1 win over New Edubiase United to end their eight-game winless run in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

The home side were left in an agonising mood when Bismark Idan fired the visitors into the lead in the 24th minute but midfielder Alhaji Sanni levelled the scoring for the Miners to give them hope.

Ivorian defender Didier Kore then cemented victory at the Len Clay Stadium to lift the pressure off Bashir Hayford.

The Miners had been without a win since their narrow 1-0 win over Sekondi Hasaacas at the venue on December 1 and their losing streak had put pressure on head coach Hayford and his side.

Edubiase knowing the form of their host went into the game aiming for victory and they dully took the lead when Idan slammed the ball home from inside of the box after the Miners defence failed to work.

AshGold were unable to draw level before the break but when they returned Alhaji Sanni levelled the scoring before Didier Kore cemented victory for his side.
