Ghana Premier League side AshantiGold have indefinitely suspended striker Sadat Karim and frozen his salary for going AWOL, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.
The player is reported to have travelled to France on a trial with a second division team for the past two weeks without permission and the move has infuriated the management team of the club.
A close source to the club has confirmed to GHANAsoccernet.com that the player will forfeit his salary for the remainder of the season and will further be punished for his recalcitrant behaviour.
AshGold beat relegation-threatened Mighty Jets 1-0 last Sunday to move to third place in the league standings.
