AshantiGold playmaker Osei Baffour insists he never used the F-word on the referee to warrant a sending off in the 2-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko on Wednesday.

The talented midfielder was shown a straight red for allegedly insulting center referee Prince Amoah using the unprintable word in the MTN FA Cup clash.

AshGold coach Bashir Hayford later attributed the defeat on that vital sending off – saying Osei Baffour’s creativity that his side so needed was unfairly taken away with the sending off.

The midfielder himself in apologizing to his teammates for letting them down with the sending off insists he didn’t use the F-word as being alleged.

“I only complained bitterly to the referee over an incident but didn’t use the f-word,” he told Angel FM.

“We were getting frustrated with the decisions of the referee as he was awarding all the 50-50 calls to Kotoko.

“I never used the f-word, perhaps someone else did but not me.

“I have already apologized to my teammates and the coach for letting them down with the sending off because it appears that was the main reason why we lost the game.”
