AshGold's stadium to undergo facelift after 20 years

The home ground of Premier League side AshantiGold will undergo refurbishment for the first time in 20 years.

The Len Clay Sports Stadium has not seen a facelift since 1991 and officials say they have acquired the necessary funds and sponsorship to help them give it a new look.

The Miners have brokered a sponsorship deal with an unnamed emulsion paint company which has high-quality and long lasting acrylic texture to smother the Stadium walls.

The works will also be extended to the pitch as both goalmouths will be completely re-grassed and re-levelled before the start of the second round.

The multi-purpose Len Clay is a  30,000-seater capacity.

The venue features automatic turnstiles, car park and over 1,300 seats in the main Grandstand as well as six Executive Boxes, each with its own air-conditioning and room for over 40 seats.

The stadium complex includes athletic track, PA system, video cameras, VIP car park, toilets and a bar with a function room.

It also has a multi-gym and electronic scoreboard, as well as floodlights.
