Midfielder Abraham Aseidu Attobrah has played down suggestions that donning the number 10 jersey at the African Nations Championship puts burden on him to punch above his weight.

The New Edubiase United playmaker has struggled to command a regular place in the local Black Stars team at the tournament.

Attobrah made only one appearance in three Group C matches after making a second half appearance in the 1-0 win over Ethiopia last Tuesday.

“The jersey number adds no extra pressure on me. On the contrary that’s my favourite number my mum even endorses I put on the number 10 jersey,” Attobrah said.

“I am ok with my performance and I pray I get more opportunities to help my team.

“I know people back home expect more from me and that encourages me to give my best in any situation I find myself.”

Ghana are through to the quarter-final of the CHAN tournament and will play DR Congo on Sunday.
