Ghana U20 assistant coach Yaw Preko believes the recent allegations that the country bribed its way to the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals cost them a slot to play at next year’s African Youth Championship qualifier.

The Black Satellites fell short of qualifying to the finals in Zambia next year despite beating Senegal 1-0 in the return fixture.

Ghana trailed 3-2 on aggregate and could not progress.

“For a very important match for the nation and bribery case is all around, definitely, if I were the referee I will be straight without any favour to the home team, because eyes will be watching,” Preko told Starr Sports.

“We all saw it, there were some penalties which should have gone our way, but what can you say, it's really difficult.”
