Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce admits it will be difficult for Ghana to overlook Albert Adomah ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations as he maps out a contingency plan.

The winger has been in scintillating form since he joined from English Premier League side Middlesbrough.

The 28-year-old has been influential for his club amid believe he could gatecrash Avram Grant's squad ahead of the Nations Cup in Gabon.

And Villa manager Steve Bruce admits he could lose the Ghana international at the wrong time.

But he is backing his squad to fill the void of their speedy wide man.

 

The manager said: “There is a possibility. We are aware of all situations. I have four weeks to think about the next four weeks and let me worry about that.

“If he gets called up there is nothing I can do about it. It is the form he is in. he is playing well at the minute, Albert. If it happens I am convinced we have a strong enough squad to cope.”
