Al Qadsia defender Rashid Sumaila says he will return into the Black Stars soon after a successful season in Kuwait.

Rashid, 23, insists working hard and improving in every game will earn him his first call up under Israeli coach Avram Grant.

“I am sure I will return to the senior national team soon. It is a target I am working at. My work rate was high this season and I will still improve upon it to get the call up,” Rashid said in an interview on Metro TV.

“I played over 30 matches this season in the league, the FA Cup, the Amir Cup as well as the Asian Champions League.

“I know my performance was great. I had a wonderful season but it is still not over. I will keep improving and I know I will be back into the Black Stars soon,” he added.

The former Dwarfs defender won the Kuwait Premier League with Al Qadsia as well as leading the youth side to lift the Youth Championship.

He was adjudged the best foreign player in Kuwait after the 2015/16 league season.

Sumaila was a member of the Black Stars squad at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil but is yet to receive his first call up under former Chelsea boss Avram Grant.
