Spanish champions Atletico Madrid have enquired about the availability of Juventus striker Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, Africanfootball.com has reported.

Los Rojiblancos want to acquire the Ghana striker, co-owned by Juventus and Genoa, on permanent transfer.

Atletico have indicated interest in replacing Diego Costa with the youngster and another world-class striker in Manchester City's Alvaro Negredo.

It is understood the Champions League losing finalists got in touch with Juventus last week to ask if Boakye could be bought outright.

But their offer was rejected with his parent club arguing the 20-year-old is only available for loan transfer.

Boakye spent last season on loan at Elche and was adjudged the best player and top scorer for La Liga outfit.

He scored seven goals in all competitions.

Juventus' refusal to sell outright in the view of analyst is because Boakye has the potential of becoming one of the best strikers in the world within the next two seasons.
