Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey marked his debut for Ghana with an impressive cameo appearances in the Black Stars's 2-0 triumph over Mauritius in the 2017 AFCON qualifier on Sunday.

The 22-year-old midfielder dynamo climbed off the bench in the 82nd minute to replace Anderlecht star Frank Acheampong at the Stade George V in a thrilling clash.

He starred in the 2016 Uefa Champions League final for Atletico Madrid in their defeat against Real Madrid in Milan.

Partey was among three players handed debut call-ups by Ghana coach Avram Grant but the Israeli gaffer preferred to start Afriyie Acquah and Wakaso Mubarak in central midfield.

But he later altered his midfield to make space for the former Tema Youth midfielder while introducing Udinese star Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu in the middle.

The availability of the pair created spaces and unlocked the hosts defence.

The remaining two debutantes - Mohammed Kadri and Patrick Twumasi were unused in the game.
