Eintracht Frankfurt will attempt to make it three consecutive wins in the Bundesliga on Matchday 9, but it promises to be anything but straightforward against leaders Borussia Dortmund, who will be looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season in a rematch of May's DFB Cup final on Saturday afternoon (kick-off 15:30CEST/13:30GMT).

Frankfurt still have a length injury list, but will be hoping to recover Gelson Fernandes and Jonathan de Guzman in due course, even if the Dortmund game may come too soon for the midfield duo. Simon Falette remains suspended, meaning Makoto Hasebe is likely to slot into central defence. Niko Kovac will be hoping that Timothy Chandler (Achilles tendon) and Marius Wolf (calf) can shake off minor niggles to face BVB, a side the Eagles have beaten in their last three Bundesliga home games, but who claimed a 2-1 victory in last season's DFB Cup final.

With Sokratis suspended and Ömer Toprak potentially absent due to a thigh injury picked up against APOEL on Tuesday, BVB coach Peter Bosz could start French youngster Dan-Axel Zagadou in central defence. Dortmund will be desperate to get back on track after losing to RB Leipzig and seeing their hopes of reaching the Champions League knock-out stage take a serious blow after a 1-1 draw in Cyprus. Shinji Kagawa and Nuri Sahin are alternative options in midfield, while Maximilian Philipp will likely replace Andrey Yarmolenko in attack.
