Ausgburg coach Markus Weinzierl sees Chelsea’s interest in his player Baba Rahman as an award for his work.

Wienzierl signed the Ghana international from German Bundesliga II side SpVgg Greuther Fürth for a paltry sum of 2.5 million euros.

"But if we sign someone like Baba from the 2. Liga and for a club like Chelsea to be interested in him after a year, then that makes us rather proud in the coaching staff," he said.

Chelsea are reported to have offered 25 million euros for the Ghana left-back but Augsburg are asking for 30 million euros.

Just last year, Augsburg had lost his left-back Matthias Ostrzolek to Hamburger SV.

"It is striking that in the second year in a row, our left-back is interesting for another club," Weinzierl said.

"We are very active on the full-back, the left benefited from the fact that he good with Werner, Altintop and Baier on his side player has. Baba has our plan well implemented, to set the scene. "
