Augsburg have enquired about the possibility of re-signing Baba Rahman from Chelsea for a short loan spell.
The German Bundesliga side transferred the Ghana international to the English champions for in the summer for £21m.
But the left back has only been a bit-part player for the struggling Blues who are in the bottom half of the table.
Interim manager Guus Hiddink is yet to give him game time since he took over last month.
The 21-year-old was used in just four Premier League games under former manager Jose Mourinho.
