Baba Rahman’s move to Chelsea has stalled over fresh demands by German side Ausgburg who are demanding €30m for the Ghana defender, sources involved in the transfer have told Ghana's leading football news website, GHANAsoccernet.com.

Agents involved in the deal have revealed to GHANAsoccernet.com talks came to a standstill after Augsburg slapped in the demands during negotiations last week.

The German club are now demanding €30m after days of intense negotiations even though Chelsea made an improved offer of €25m.

The Ghana defender has already agreed to personal terms with Chelsea in anticipation of the move and the latest demands from the German side is frustrating the left-back and his advisors.

Augsburg, who signed the Ghanaian just a year ago from Greuther Furth for €2.5m, are angling for more profit even though they will be earning ten times what they paid for the Ghanaian just last year.

Baba Rahman’s advisor Kurt Okraku flew into Germany last week to join agent Sascha Empacher in a bid to get their client’s move to Chelsea done and dusted.

They were however given the shock of their lives when the top hierarchy at Augsburg extended their demands to €30m – sensing an opportunity to milk more cash out of Chelsea who are desperate to secure a cover for Cesar Apilicueta.

It is now unclear if Chelsea will agree to the fresh demands of the German club who have already signed Baba Rahman’s replacement in Philipp Max.

Talks are expected to run deep into transfer deadline day where one party will have to budge to make the move happen.

Players have been accused of being greedy over transfers but this is a clear case of greed on the part of clubs.

Insiders have told Ghanasoccernet.com that after the talks could resume this weeks after the weekend's matches for both clubs in their domestic competitions.
