Coach Avram Grant has left Ghana for his base in the UK after being granted permission to spend time with his family during the Christmas and New Year festivities.

The 60-year-old left Accra on Monday night after holding a press conference to mark his one-year anniversary as coach of the Black Stars.

Grant will spent extensive time with his family throughout the Christmas period with no international assignment scheduled for the Black Stars until March.

He will is however likely to use his time abroad to monitor some Ghanaian players in Europe.

Some of the leagues in Europe will be going on a brief winter break while others, especially the English Premier League will be in session.

Grant has been widely criticized for his failure to stay in Ghana for longer periods since his appointment in December 2014.

But with the Black Stars not in action until March, and with the Christmas and New Year festivities on the horizon, the Ghana FA feels time is rife to let the Israeli leave the country to spend time with his family.
