Avram Grant eager to welcome Kwadwo Asamoah back to the Black Stars on injury return
Kwadwo Asamoah has been out for a year

Coach Avram Grant says he will be more than happy to welcome Kwadwo Asamoah back into the Ghana team once he makes a full recovery from injury.

The Juventus star has not played for the Black Stars since Avram Grant was appointed coach of the side in December 2014.

Asamoah, 26, has been battling a troublesome knee injury during this period.

The former Udinese man has suffered several setbacks with each attempt towards making a return to first team action especially at club level.

Avram Grant has thus been forced to go about with his work with the Black Stars without Asamoah who remains one of the most influential players of the side.

But the former Chelsea boss says he would very much like to have the talented midfielder back to beef up the quality of the Black Stars.

“If Kwadwo Asamoah recovers and he is fit he will provide good competition to the guys we have," Grant told a press conference on Monday.

Asamoah is expected back in training at Juventus in a week’s time after suffering a recent setback.
