Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Vincent Oppong Asamoah has lauded Coach Avram Grant and described the head coach of the Black Stars as “huge” asset for Ghana.

According to him, the Israeli trainer has brought a new trend in Ghana football particularly the senior national team, Black Stars and his dedication towards the development of Ghana football has been so unique.

The 59-year-old signed a 27-month deal to take over from Maxwell Konadu who was temporary in charge of the senior national team since the departure of Kwesi Appiah.

Avram Grant used only six weeks to prepare the Black Stars for the 2015 Nations Cup in Equatorial Guinea but went into the final of the competition.

Ghana lost in a penalty shootout to Ivory Coast and the deputy minister believes the man has good intention for Ghana.

“Avram has good stuffs for the nation, for couple of months I have been with him; the man is ready to take the national teams to the next level and I can say the nation has a huge asset” he told Asempa Sport`s Frank Agyam in an exclusive interview after the AYC in Senegal.

As part of his contract, the Israeli has been tasked to serve all the senior national teams apart from Black Stars.

The Deputy Minister added that the Ghana Football Association should assist Avram Grant to organize seminars or workshops to upgrade the coaches in the various leagues in Ghana.
