Ghanaian trio of Frank Sarfo-Gyamfi, Awal Mohammed and Yakubu Mohammed will get a new manager at Maritzburg United after the club sacked Clinton Larsen as head coach on Friday.

The former South African international has been axed after just 79 days in charge as head coach.

The trio played under German gaffer Ernst Middendorp who was sacked in October to allow Larsen to assume the role of a head coach.

But after a poor string of performances which saw the club manage just 5 points from a possible 27, the club have confirmed his departure.

Awal and Yakubu made consistent appearances in Larsen's team during his short spell at the club while winger Sarfo-Gyamfi occasion made the first team squad.

Maritzburg have announced they are in talks with a host of coaches as they seek to appoint a new manager in the coming days.
