Ex Deputy Sports Minister O.B Amoah wants Mahama Ayariga to apologize for touting Ghanaââ¬â¢s credentials of hosting the 2015 AFCON even before the motion is tabled before cabinet.
The Sports Minister told the world Ghana is capable of hosting the tournament if Morocco â⬓ the original hosts â⬓ decide to waive the hosting rights as speculated in the media.
The North African country have requested a postponement of competition set to take place early next year over the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus.
Ghana have been considered as a possible host nation by CAF in the event Morocco are unable to carry on with their responsibility.
And in the heat of the intense debate as to whether Ghana should be considered as an option to host next yearââ¬â¢s event considering the spread of the deadly virus, Ghanaââ¬â¢s Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga declared the nation was ready to host the tournament if called upon.
But ex Sports Minister O.B Amoah believes the declaration made by the Sports Minister was premature especially with the matter yet to be discussed by the cabinet.
"I believe all this started with the Sportsà Minister (Mahama Ayariga), he has to find a way of apologizingà to Ghanaians because he has been inà government for some time now he shouldà know how government works," Amoah told Starr Fm.
ââ¬ÅIf a major matter like hosting AFCON 2015à has not been referred to cabinet and the president, he has no business to come outà that we are ready to host the competition.ââ¬
CAF is unwilling to grant Moroccoââ¬â¢s request of postponing the start of the tournament to a later date.
The continental football governing body are already looking at alternative hosting destinations as they continue to engage Morocco officials in discussions to find a way forward.
