Ayew looking to move to a bigger club, eyeing Ghana return

Ghana midfielder Rahim Ayew looking to leave Lierse

Ghana midfielder Rahim Ayew is looking to make a career step up from Lierse SK.

The 24-year-old has returned to regular first team action following an injury-plagued season last term.

The ex XI Wise player has been impressive so far in the Belgian top flight and has been voted twice Man-of-the-Match this season.

The eldest son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele who arrived from Egyptian giants Zamalek in 2010 is now looking to further his career by moving to a bigger club.

“It is the dream of every player to move to a bigger club and that is what I aim at,” he told MTNFootball.com.

“I want to keep and improve my form to ensure I attract the interest from the big clubs.”

Ayew was part of the Black Stars team that lost out to Egypt in the finals of the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.

He has however not been part of the national team for over a year now due to his battle with recurring injuries.

With his return to regular first team action, the utility midfielder is looking to win back a place in the Black Stars.

“I am always available to play in the national team,” he adds.

“As and when it is deemed fit for me to come in, I am ever prepared to play.”

I prefer this guy than Jordan. Jordan is still young and should learn.

  2. real sabacious says:

@Jimmy if ppl like u dont have any meaningful comment to write,u better shut up bro!what do u mean by Jordan is young?how old is Raheem sterling, toni kroos,Eto,walcot, rooney, owen, muller etc when they started playing for their national teams?ppl like u make me sick!listen Jordan has been playing in almost all the matches of marseille this season. The lique 1 is among the top 5 leagues in the world, asuch how can u draw conclusion that he’s young?if football is play by old ppl, then odartey, tony yeboah, polo, yaw preko, stepehen appiah and the rest will still be playing for the stars!Anyway are these lazy GFA doing about Bellarabi of leverkusen? i’m just watching him in the europa league and i can boldly say,the guy will improve the quality of the team.i dont sometimes understand the way those at the GFA do their thing. If ivory coast with all their stars are still chasing players with ivorian root, what prevent Nyantakyi’s(a.k.a Agya Nimo)led GFA from doing the same?i doubt if these ppl have Ghana football at heart!

SABACIOUS, SHUT UP. JORDAN IS IMMATURE AND NOT RIPE FOR GBSTAR. DO UR RESEARCH ON HIM AND HOW MANY GOALS VERSUS APPEARANCES HE HAS MADE FOR HIS CLUB.CURRENTLY, HE IS NOT EVEN GETTING MUCH PLAYING TIME WITH HIS CLUB. IF U HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING JORDAN AYEW AT MARSEILLE, U WILL REALISE THAT HE SCORES MOSTLY AGAINST VERY WEAK OPPOSITION. ALOMOST LIKE KP BOATENG. IS THIS THE TYPE OF PLAYER U WANT FOR GBSTAR? WE TOOK JORDAN TO AFCON 2012 AND WAT DID HE DO? NOT EVEN 1 GOAL FROM HIM. PUT HIM IN A GAME AGAINST LESOTHO UNDER JETLAGG AND DUM SO CONDITIONS AND HE SCORES 2 GOALS. PUT HIM IN A GAME AGAINST ZAMBIA, ANE HE BECOMES A PASSENGER WITH ATTITUDE. OPEN UR EYES…

  3. Blow says:

Akwesi needs to look at the bigger picture and create a space at the left or right back for Rahim in order to beef up our defense. His strength is badly needed in the team.Winning this Afcon will depend solely on a solid, tall, strong and hard tackling defense.Remember, good defense win Cups and not strikers.

  4. Sam says:

Sabacious,is this guy u talking about even a Ghana decent, and if either parent is from ghana do mean he has to or will play for ghana, and besides he is not all that good anyway. Im sure is Karim Bellarabie u talking about that guy look like an arab by the way.

    • kantoose says:

Rascist idiot. You are the same person who will accuse white people for being rascist to you. Even migrants can become Ghanaians how much more someone of 50% Ghanaian Blood. You are an idiot for even considering him unghanain by his looks even before we speak with him. How does a Ghanaian look like?

WE LOST OUT ON GOLD AT AFCON ANGOLA BCOS MILO MADE A SIMPLE MISTAKE. HE TOOK OUT RAHIM IN DEFENCE AND BROUGHT IN ERIC ADDO. IMMEDIATELY HE MADE THAT CHANGE, GEDO SCORED. RAHIM IS THE STRONG, UTILITY WE NED FOR AFCON S AFRICA. HE CAN PLAY NUMEROUS POSITIONS AND HE IS TOUGH AS NAILS.

    AA SHOULD ALSO CALL ABEYIE.
AA, YOUR STRIKERS SHOULD BE THESE GUYS: AFFUM, YIADOM, CLOTTEY AND GYAN. ANYTHING LESS, AND U MAY HAVE TO RELY ON KWARASAY TO SCORE GIVE U.

  6. King Auda, Goaso B-A says:

Ghfuo, i’ve been monitoring ur comments on dis site day in n out finding nothing useful as far as gh football is concern.Do u think u know much better than de elites who run our futbol?Just post on ur view n stop looking down on de reputation of personalities. What has Affum achieve in de game 2 gain a call- up over Waris who is a top scorer in sweden. U tag de swedish league a mediocre, then how wil u describe de lower ranked egyptian league, kee mute!! Best Gh strikers: Gyan, waris, clottey, yiadom, karkari,n would-be ghanaian, Berlarabi. Gh 4 Afcon 2013 n watchout brazil 2014.

    • GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

auda, u are a fool who refuse to think so you will continue TO SEEK HIPC EVEN IN THE ABUNDANT OF GOLD RESOURCES RIGHT INFRONT OF YOUR NOSE. LOOK, I CAN TELL YOU FOR A FACT THAT THE EGYPTIAN LEAGUE IS OF MORE QUALITY THAN THE SWEDISH LEAGUE. GO AND WATCH SOME OF WARRIS’ GOALS ON YOU TUBE AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND WHAT I MEAN. SECONDLY, THIS IS WARRIS’S FIRST YEAR IN SWEDEN. IF YOU ARE GOING TO CALL SOMEONE TO GBSTAR, AT LEAST LET THE GUY PROVE HIMSELF CONSISTENTLY. THE GUY HASNT EVEN PLAYED A FULL SEASON IN THIS USELESS SWEDISHLEAGUE, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN HE IS BEEN GLORIFIED AS THE NEXT DROGBA? HE HAS BEEN INVITED TO GBSTAR GAMES OVER AND OVER. HOW MANY GOALS HAS HE EVEN SCORED IN A GBSTAR JERSEY? YOU THINK HE CAN DO ANY BETTER AT AFCON?…MUAHAHAHAAAAA….GO ANS ASK KP BOATENG, JORDAN AYEW, KWADWO ASAMOAH AND TONY YEBOAH WAT THE DIFFERENCE IS PLAYING AGAINST AFRICANS IN AFCON TOURNEYS TO PLAYING AGAINST EUROPEANS, OKAY.

BEFORE U HAD THE NERVE TO WRITE THIS FOOLISH MESG, DID U THINK TO DO A LIL BIT OF RESEARCH ON AFFUM’S CAREER UP TILL DATE? Affum, who notched seven goals out of Smouha’s 15 last season, scored a brilliant goal against Ahli when the Alexandrians lost 3-1 in Cairo back in January. MIND YOU, THE EGYPTIAN LEAGUE WAS SUSPENDED IN MARCH. AFFUM HAS COME BACK AND LEADS HIS CLUB IN PRESEASON SCORING. THE GIY IS 30YRS AND STILL PRODUCING.
PUT WARRIS IN A SMOUHA UNIFORM AND THERE IS NO WAY HE CAN REPLICATE THE SUCCESES HE IS HAVING IN SWEDEN. HE WONT EVEN COME CLOSE TO SCORING AT THE PACE AFFUM HAS DONE WITH SMOUHA BEFORE MARCH, AND EVEN DURING THE PRESEASON IN EGYPT. WHY U ASK? BCOS OF THE QUALITY OF THE 2 LEAGUES. SECONDLY, AFFUM IS OLDER AND A MORE MATURE PLAYER THAN WARRIS. HAVING OPLAYED IN EGYPT, HE UNDERSTAND THE NATURE OF EGYPTIAN SOCCER AND IS IN A BETTER POSITION TO HELO GH WIN THE AFCON TROPHY THAN WARRIS. AFFUM, GYAN AND EVEN CLOTTEY CAN DELIVER WHEN WE PLAY AGAINST NORTH AFRICAN TEAMS OR EVEN EGYPT. BE MINDFUL THAT WE R GOING TO AFCON TOURNAMNT. MOST EUROPEAN BASED PLAYERS ARE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THEIR SUCCESSS WHEN THEY PLAY AGAINST AFRICAN OPPOSITION..LIKE KP BOATENG, TONY YEBOAH, JORDAN AYEW, KWADWO ASAMOAH,…ALL THESE NEED TO BE CONSIDERED. AFFUM HAS BEEN THRU MANY OBSTACLES IN HIS CAREER, WITH THE LATEST BEING THE STOPPAGE OF THE EGYPTIAN LEAGUE IN MARCH. INFACT, HAD THE LEAGUE CONTINUED, AFFUM WILL VERY WELL HAVE EITHER LED THE LEAGUE IN GOALS OR COME VERY CLOSE. HE WAS ALSO PLAYING FOR SMOUHA, A WEAK CLUB. IN THE PAST, WE HAVE ASSEMBLED MOSTLY FOREIGN BASED PLAYERS TO AFCON AND WHAT DID WE GET IN RETURN? FAILURE AFTER FAILURE FOR 30YRS. MEANWHILE, NATIONS LIKE ZAMBIA, EGYPT, SPAIN HAVE PARADED LOCAL BASED PLAYERS TO CONTINENTAL TOURNAMNTS AND HAVE BEATEN THE LIKES OF GHANA, GERMANY, DUTCH WHO ALWAYS PARADE FOREIGN BASED PLAYERS TO AFCON/EUROPEAN TOURNAMNTS. AUDA, I HOPE THIS GETS YOU TO THINK ON WHY I THINK AFFUM IS A BETTER CHOICE THAN WARRIS FOR AFCON 2013. AUDA MY MESSAGE TO YOU IS THIS: IN LIFE, Don’t let the new and shiny syndrome blind you to plans you’ve already made and budgets you’ve already set, U HEAR. DONT FOLLOW THE CROWD.

  7. abdul majeed yakubu says:

i wish u best of luck my brother and wish to see u play for champions ligue with a biger clubs

  8. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

to king auda, yes, i know BETTER THAN THE SO CALLED ELITES WHO R RUNNING GH SOCCER. I CAN TELL YOU FOR A FACT, THAT I KNOW BETTER, YES! THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THEM AND ME IS THIS. UNLIKE THAM, I AM A DILLIGENT MAN OF INTEGRITY. I DONT ACCEPT BRIBES, IM TRSUTWORKTHY AND A HARDWORKER WHO REAPS WAT HE SOWS. THESE PAST AND PRESENT GFA OFFICIALS ARE UNREALISTIC. FOR 30 YRS, THEY HAVE BEEN TAKING FOREIGN BASED PLAYERS TO AFCON AND COMING UP SHORT. IS THIS REALISTIC? U GO TO WCUP AND DO THIS, NOT AFCON. MOST OF YOUR OPPONENTS ARE LOCAL BASED PLAYERS WHO ARE FAMILIAR WITH AFRICAN SOCCER, THE TERRAIN AND HAVE PLAYED ALONGSIDE EACH OTHER FOR A WHILE. WHEN ARE WE GOING TO MOVE AWAY FROM THIS USELESS FORMULA? 50/50 IS THE BEST APPROACH
