Ayew: Marseille aiming for Manchester United upset

Andre Ayew insists his club Marseille are capable of upsetting Manchester United when the sides meet on Tuesday in the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie.

Manchester United, unbeaten at home this season, drew 0-0 at the Stade Velodrome last month in the first game.

The Ghanaian midfielder has played a key role for Marseille this season and he's expected to step up to the plate tonight at Old Trafford.

The English side are regarded as the favourites for the game because of their home record this season but the son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele remains confident.

"We know Manchester United are the favourites for the game but they should be prepared for a shock," said Ayew told GHANAsoccernet.com exclusively.

"We are coming out to fight and prove that we are also one of the top teams in Europe. We are not scared of playing at Old Trafford.

"The same way they came to Marseille to fight is the same way we are in England to fight

"We are good enough, we just have to take our chances when they come along."

Marseille travelled to Manchester on Monday night on the back of five domestic victories in six including a 2-0 win on Friday at Rennes.

Ayew believes his team can advance even though United have never lost to a French side at Old Trafford.
