Andre Ayew is urging his Olympique Marseille teammates to up their game in the second half of the season to guarantee success at the end of the campaign.

Les Phoceens are currently level on points at the top of Ligue 1 but can pull further away from PSG when they host Lille on Sunday.

Marseille seem rejuvenated with the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa at the beginning of the season.

The former French champions have however been unable to show their return to dominance in key games against big clubs this season.

Ayew thus wants this changed when the season resumes in the New Year to give the side a fair chance to reclaim the Ligue 1 crown.

"We went there [Paris, Lyon and Monaco] and even if we dominated all three games, we had more opportunities, but we lost," the Ghana international said.

"We showed we don't fear them. We went to get them in their camp. So I think we have shown a lot of character."

"We weren't able to kill the games against these teams. But when I see what we produced and the opportunities we created, I can sleep easy and know that we can really do something in the second half of the season against these big teams.

"But the championship is not just the games against them; we have to be strong against all the other teams."
