Baba Rahman continues renaissance in Chelsea’s heavy win over Newcastle
Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman

Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman played the entire second half of Chelsea’s 5-1 victory over Newcastle on Saturday evening.

English defender John Terry picked up an injury in the first half and interim Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink had to reshuffle his back line with the introduction on Rahman who was full of energy and running.

The Ghanaian who was only playing his first game in the league under Guus looked sharp and hungry from the word go and settled in well to ensure Chelsea continued their dominance over a sorry looking Newcastle side.

Two goals from Pedro and a goal each for Costa, Willian and Burkina Faso forward Bertrand  Isidore Traore gave Chelsea a 5-0 lead before Andros Townsend smashed a low drive pass Thibaut Courtois  to give Newcastle a consolation.

The extent  of Terry’s injury is unknown but with French defender Kurth Zouma already out Rahman could benefit from the absence of key players to catch some much needed playing time.
