Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman will complete his move to Chelsea after Augsburg have secured his replacement, according to fresh reports.

The 21-year-old is widely expected to complete a sensational move to the English champions sometime this week.

This was after Augsburg reportedly accepted an improved €25m offer from Chelsea late last week.

But the move is yet to be finalized and now reports suggest that Augsburg’s signing of Philipp Max from Karlsruhe is the reason for the delay.

The German club want to complete the signing of the German left-back for an expected €4m fee before giving Baba Rahman the all clear to join Chelsea, according to a latest report.

This may further delay Rahman’s move to Chelsea as Ausgburg are yet to complete the signing of Philipp Max.

An agreement is said to have been struck between Augsburg and Karlsruhe for Max but there has been a hold up.

Baba Rahman meanwhile, according to his agent has agreed to personal terms and is set to make a career step up by joining Chelsea.
