Real Madrid's win at Villarreal saw them match a goalscoring record of Barcelona.

Gareth Bale's header against Villarreal saw Real Madrid equal a record set 73 years ago by arch rivals Barcelona.

Los Blancos have now registered in 44 consecutive games, a run which began after a goalless draw in the Champions League semi-finals against Manchester City on 24 April, 2016.

The Catalans had set their record between 1942/43 and 1943/44, a period in which only LaLiga and the Copa del Rey were competed for.
