Balıkesirspor forward Mahatma Otoo says he is unperturbed by his constant absence from the Black Stars despite his fine form at club level.

The 26-year-old had a great time in the Turkish second-tier league last term as he finished the campaign as Balikesirspor's second top scorer in the league after bagging 13 goals and registered one assist in 31 appearances for the Balkes.

Despite his goal scoring exploits, he was snubbed by coach Kwesi Appiah for the Black Stars upcoming double header friendlies against Japan and Iceland.

However, the former Hearts of Oak skipper insists he is not disturbed by his latest exclusion and says he will rather continue to work hard to earn a place in the team.

“Kwasi Appiah was the one who invited me to the Black Stars for the first time, so he knows what I can do," Otoo told GHOne TV.

“He has explained he’s building a new squad, so since he knows me already, he wants to have a look at other strikers.

"When the time comes to introduce Mahatma, I’m sure he will do exactly that.

“I’ve worked under him before, so I know he will do that [invite me] at the right time."

Otoo earned his debut Black Stars call up under Kwesi Appiah during his first stint with the team in 2013.
