Ghanaian youngster Kwame Amponsah Karikari says he is bidding his time to earn his first international call up with the Black Stars.

The 22-year-old striker has been in good scoring form for Balikesirspor in the Turkish second tier where he is the third highest scorer with 11 goals.

Karikari who is on loan from Swedish club AIK is now praying for an international breakthrough after receiving widespread plaudits for his consistent performances including that of Ghana goalkeeper and club teammate Richard Kingson.

“It is all about good timing. I know I can play and people who have followed my prospect know what I am capable of doing,” he said.

“The [Black Stars] team is very strong and full of senior players but I believe when given the chance I will add something to the side.

“Hopefully I will be granted my prayer by being given this opportunity and there everyone will see what I am made up of.”

Karikari moved to AIK in 2011 after an impressive season in the Ghana second tier league with Inter Allies.
