John Barnes believes Asamoah Gyan is no where near matching up to the best strikers in the world.

The Liverpool legend however conceded to the improved performance of the Sunderland hitman but urged him to do more in order to reach the level attained by Didier Drogba or Samuel Eto’o.

“Asamoah Gyan is not yet at the level of a Dider Drogba or a Samuel Eto’o but it doesn’t mean he can’t get there,” Barnes told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“He is young and works very hard for the team but must do even more to match-up to the best strikers in the world.”

The ex Jamaican coach is currently in Ghana to partake in several charity and developmental projects.

Paramount of the tasks to be fulfilled is to help raise funds to cater for deprived ex Ghana internationals.
