Ghana’s female U20 team coach Bashir Hayford remains buoyant about his side’s chances ahead of next month’s FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Canada.

The Black Princesses have touched base in Toronto to begin preparations ahead of the start of the tournament on August 5.

The Ghanaians will play series of low profile friendly games before the competition gets underway.

The Ashantigold trainer remains defiant about his side’s chances despite meeting tournament host Canada in the opener.

“The team has worked well on a lot of things and I believe we have made a lot of progress, both tactically and physically,” the ex-Kotoko coach said.

“Everyone has been much focused during training and the players are all getting along very well, it’s a good atmosphere.”

The Africans will also take on Finland and Korea Republic in the other group A games.
