Medeama coach Bashir Hayford has hailed the teamââ¬â¢s effort in his sideââ¬â¢s famous 3-1 win at Hearts of Oak.
The Mauves and Yellows managed a brilliant win over the capital-based side in the biggest match of the season, opening a one-point gap at the top of the table.
A brace from Joseph Gordon and a header from Eric Nyarko condemned Hearts to their 6th defeat of the season.
Mahatma Otoo scored the consolation for Hearts in the 3-1 drubbing.
ââ¬ÅWe came into the game with a plan and it worked to perfection,â⬠Hayford said
ââ¬ÅWe knew Hearts are going through difficult times and so we capitalized on that and scored those beautiful goals.
ââ¬ÅOur game plan changed after Tanko was shown the red card but we never gave up and fought hard for the three points.
ââ¬ÅI told them to shoot from long range and that resulted in the wonder goal from Joseph Gordon. This is a young chap who has just recovered from an injury.
ââ¬ÅThis is his third game. We have about three players in the treatment room and so I believe when the second round starts, Medeama will play a beautiful game.ââ¬
Medeama are top of the table and will host Tema Youth on Sunday.
