Ashantigold coach Bashir Hayford insists his side will not buckle under expectationà ahead of their title -defining moments in the Ghanaian top-flight.
The miners opened a three-point lead at the top of the table with three games to spare following their comeback 2-1 win over Medeama on Sunday.
But pressure is on for the Obuasi-based club ahead of their trip to the Golden City Park on Saturday where they face Chelsea in an explosive contest.
But the clubââ¬â¢s coach Bashir Hayford has moved to ease the mounting pressure on his team by insisting they will weather the storm.
ââ¬â¢Well, I understand the game from a different perspective. I am a coach and I have trained the players. That is why we normally say final whistle justifies the end.ââ¬â¢Ã¢â¬â¢ He told Kumasi-based Fox FM.
ââ¬Ëââ¬â¢ We conceded the first goal against Medeama but until the ninety minutes end, you cannot say a team has lost a game.
ââ¬Ëââ¬â¢The same thing happened when we played Asante Kotoko. They scored first before we equalized. So, I told the boys that it is normal. So there was no pressure on me as well as the players.
ââ¬Ëââ¬â¢We all started at zero. I am on top of the league, so why should I be under pressure? I believe it is the club chasing us who is under pressure. Because they have to double up. There is no pressure on us. We are taking it match-after-match.ââ¬
The miners have subsequent games against WAFA and relegation-threatened Great Olympics on the final day of the league.
