AshantiGold coach Bashiru Hayford insists his side are on course to win this season’s Ghana Premier League despite losing to Asante Kotoko on Sunday.

A 25th minute header from Frank Sarfo Gyamfi enveloped the Miners with their seventh defeat of the season.

But AshGold still preserved their two-point lead following Berekum Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat at Bechem United on Friday.

“The day wasn’t ours. Kotoko have won and we say congratulations to them. Anybody who watched the match knows how good we played. I think is hard luck,” Hayford told SuperSport TV in a post-match interview.

“It is not over until it’s over. We are playing home on our next match and then we go away elsewhere. Football doesn’t speak the truth sometimes you play well but you lose."
