Bashiru Hayford takes another swipe at a journalist; questions his relevance for his media outfit

AshantiGold head coach Bashiru Hyaford has yet again taken another swipe at a journalist after their SWAG Cup loss to Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium last Sunday.

The AshGold gaffer was asked by the journalists as to whether he missed the players who left the side for other teams outside Ghana.

Bashiru Hayford who felt the question was demeaning to the current squad angrily asked the journalist if he was the one who started the radio station he is now working for.

It will be recalled that Yakubu Mohammed, Bernard Morrison, Didier Korie and Lawrence Lartey have all left for clubs outside the country.

When asked whether he has missed the services of those players, Bashiru Hayford said “No. I don’t think you started working for your station and you are still running it. Some people have left and they are not remembered. Should your employers mention their names to you that if they were there they would do a better job? Will you be happy? Hayford furiously asked.

“Tell me, do your employers always mention the names of your predecessors to you that they were better than you? How will you feel if they do that? Answer me. How will you feel if they do that? Are you not answering me? Well if you are not answering me, then don’t ask me any other question. You don’t want to answer my questions me yet you expect me to answer your questions,” Coach Bash said while walking away.

AshantiGold lost the game by a lone goal making it the third time Bashiru Hayford has tasted defeat in the hands of David Duncan since his appointment as Kotoko manager.
