Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom watched from the bench as Bastia made a remarkable comeback to beat Valenciennes 4-3 in the French top flight on Saturday.

The right-back was an unused substitute as braces from Floran Thuavin and Toifilou Maoulida secured the Blues an impressive come-from-behind win at the Stade du Hainaut.

Frederic Hantz’s team have been in great form in recent games – losing just ones in the last five.

This form has seen the Blues break away from the threat of relegation to climb to 13th ahead of Sunday’s games in Ligue 1.

Inkoom’s lack of regular games at the Stade Armand Cesari however remains a concern.

The 23-year-old has only made two appearances since arriving on loan from Ukrainian club FC Dnipro in January.
