Marseille coach Baup picks Andre Ayew for Sochaux clash

Published on: 12 January 2013

Marseille boss Elie Baup has included Ghana winger Andre Ayew in his 18-man squad to face Sochaux in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday.

The 23-year-old joined his Marseille team-mates in Marrakech, Morocco on Tuesday after being left out of Ghana's squad over fitness concerns.

Boss Baup revealed on Wednesday he was not sure whether the 2011 BBC African Footballer of the Year award winner would be fit in time for their trip to Sochaux.

But after returning to full scale training on Friday, the 57-year-old has included Andre in his 18-man squad for the game.

Full team:

Goalkeepers: Mandanda, Samba

Defenders: Abdallah, Fanni, Nkoulou, Diawara, Mendes, Morel

Midfielders: Abdullah, Barton, Cheyrou, Valbuena, Amalfitano, A.Ayew

Forwards: J.Ayew, Remy, Gignac, Jobello

Guys, listen…….In Dede Ayew first appearance at the nations cup in 2008 he had a bust up with Laryea Kingston in Kumasi. In 2010 John Mensah had to tame him for what could have sparked physical confrontation. The media gave it a black out. In 2012, his demand for the number 10 jersey from Kojo Asamoah created some enmity and disaffection within the team. In the 1012 last game agaist Mali he had a bust-up with Anthony Annan i the tunnel. Masa, who is Dede Ayew at all? Ah, who is he? Is he better than Shamo Quaye, Joe Debrah, Robert Eshun, Tony Tieku, Richard Naawu, Thomas Boakye, Olli Rahman, Ablade Kumah dems who were dropped in a similar nation’s cup? It is only our generation that seems to have idolized ordinary players like Dede players. This guy is not a star! He comes nowhere near the worst of these players i have mentioned yet none of them went het-wire when they were axed. Dede must take time to rise else he will crumble. Ah, nsemfoarakwa!

Do Ghanaians have some kind of disease or something that makes some us soo stupid. The last time I checked, Andre was being made to apologize to AA...the coach made it a media fiasco...AA has that Ghanaian mentality that anybody younger than you should kiss your ass and treat you like a king. This is 2013, we need to drop that mentality. AA embarrassed Andre by demanding an apology for something amazingly stupid, the fact that he made it public was even worse. Then there were reports of AA trying to frautrate AA to making him quit the long as AA is the coach Andre will never play for Ghana with his heart...Should AA be fired and some point, which I hope is soon, it will still be hard for him to play for Ghana just because AA has made him look like an enermy of the team...Ghanaians have and extreme envious character. They hate you when they think you are better than then...AA is doing all this just because of abedi...Andre Ayew is the most dedicated BS player we have bad since S. Appiah. AA went and beg Gyan to come back. Then the slightest opportunity he got with Andre he drops him?...fucking idiots use your brain and take a few days to recover from hamstring injury, and AA knows that but he still dropped Ayew...till Ghanaians stop that skin pain attitude, we will continue to lack in everything we do

i support u oti.some people fail to understand the issue.Dede said he had hamstring injury so the saturday deadline was moved to monday for him to report to camp,he just decided to choose his own time to come. The time did not favor the coach becos he needs to do assessment of dede's injury to see wether he can include him in his 23 man squared.people are failing to see beyond their noses, the truth is that Dede faked that injury becos even marsail did not want him to go,they said they released him becos of fifa sanction, everything was planned,Essien did the same tin in 2006

This whole Andre/BS fiasco from my perspective is conspiracy by Andre himself and his club Marseilles. It's all good no matter the results BS get it South Africa. We will not let anyone/player hold BS hostage. We will not kiss any player's ass!

Most people return small favors, acknowledge medium ones and repay greater ones - with ingratitude. And you Dede are a typical example. In fact, a grateful dog is better than you. Your ingratitude is treasonable. Your extraordinary haste to recovery testifies that your injury was a fake one. You were waging a one-man protest against the exclusion of your brother. And you couldn’t have gotten a heed by your elementary modus operandi. Your pride will bring sorrow to yourself.
