Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng has aimed a swipe at Chelsea â⬓ challenging them not to repeat their defensive tactics in the Champions League Final.
The two sides meet in the Champions League final in two weeks' time but the defender of Ghanaian descent suspects the Blues will adopt the ultra-defensive style.
Former Manchester City defender Boateng, 23, accused the Blues of ââ¬Åbarricading themselvesâ⬠in their own penalty area as they saw off ÃBarcelona in the semis.
Boateng, who left City in a ã12m deal last Ãsummer, said: ââ¬ÅThere is no special recipe for beating Chelsea.
ââ¬ÅBut I donââ¬â¢t believe they will play the ÃChampions League final the same way as they did against Barcelona.
ââ¬ÅThey wonââ¬â¢t use all 11 men to Ãbarricade Ãthemselves in their own Ãpenalty area. Iââ¬â¢ll leave it up to our scouts to draw up a plan.
ââ¬ÅI used to say the ÃPremier League was stronger than the ÃBundesliga, but that is no longer the case. The Premier has more money but in sporting terms, both leagues are on the same level. But I miss the fact that English football is tougher and, unlike in Germany, the refs donââ¬â¢t stop play for every crappy little thing.
ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢ve got some crazy memories of the time I played for City. Wayne Rooney was one of my neighbours.
ââ¬ÅWhen there was talk that he might leave ÃManchester United, the media flew helicopters over his house and tried to film him. This was in Prestbury, a picturesque little village.
ââ¬ÅIt was a scenic and cosy place, half-an-hour from Manchester. You never get a fuss there.ââ¬
