Bechem United are accusing referee Maxwell Hanson for aiding their defeat to relegation-threatened Ebusua Dwarfs on Wednesday.

The Hunters are incensed by referee Hanson’s decision to disallow an Augustine Okrah first half goal claming he was offside.

Bechem also claim they were also deprived an opportunity to level the scores late on after a skillful Okrah effort forced Kingsley Nteng to handle the ball in the penalty area.

“The score line was still 0-0 at the time the goal was disallowed and the club feel the match could have turned out differently had Okrah’s goal stood,” a statement said.

“Okrah was ruled offside after he headed home from a free-kick despite five Dwarfs players standing ahead of him to the goal.”

Bechem United will lodge an official complaint to the Ghana Football Association, to insist on review and retrospective punishment for match officials on the day.

The defeat saw Bechem slip to 12th on the table; two points above the relegation mark.
