Bechem United are accusing the Asante Kotoko hierarchy of approaching them to fix last Sunday’s MTN FA Cup quarter-final clash in Kumasi.

The club’s Public Relations Officer Bismark Danso claimed two top officials asked them to play it soft because they do not have the finances to travel to Africa if they win the competition.

But the Hunters hesitated and went on to win 3-2 on penalties after both sides had tied 1-1 after extra time.

Danso told Nhyira FM: "Kotoko General Manager and their Operations Manager came to us and told us to lose the game, Opoku Nti told me if we win, we will not get the money to go to Africa,so we should negotiate with them to beat us.

"Some members of MTN also came to our dressing room before extra time and wanted us to negotiate the match with them, but we didn’t agree."

Bechem United will face lower division side Wa Rockets in the semi-final next month.
